Interview Ootd

Job interviews are always a scary thing. It's nerve wracking to put out applications, it's even more nerve wracking to get a call from an unknown  number telling you, you have a job interview the next day! What do you wear? What do you say? Are you ready to sell your self to a potential employer? Most likely the answer to all those questions are no. You're not ready.
Depending on the job you applied to, you should have a clear understanding of the dress code. If it's retail, research the brand. After you've researched, research again! It always helps to wear some pieces from the brand. It shows that you have an interest. If you don't have clothing from the store your applying to, just find pieces that is a similar aesthetic to the store.
I personally think this look is great for a second interview. The first interview you showcase the brand look, then the second interview you show off your personal style, but in a work environment.

If it's corporate your going for, a gorgeous cropped dress pant would be amazing for the summer. Throw a blazer over it and you're in business attire.

Snake skin Beauty

Snake skin is such a great pattern to wear with anything. I personally like the grey and white colored snake skin. The colors are neutral enough that if you want to style it with a color, you absolutely can. I used gold accessories to compliment the gold studs on the shoes. I know grey is a cool color and gold is warm but I think it works.
I have to admit, I have these shoes and they're amazing. They're super comfortable,(with only a 2 1/2 inch heel) super cute and I love them.  I was planing on wearing these with white jeans, maybe a colored top and a blazer.
These remind me of the Valentino "RockStud" the pair that I have are from BCBG. They're a good deal for the style.

Concert Extravaganza

Yesterday I attended a Fall Out Boy concert, and I must say my outfit was cute. I decided I wanted a halter top, and I couldn't find one in my size. Googling Plus size halters tops was basically useless. All that came up was ugly bathing suits, and terribly patterned old lady tops. It's like plus size designers still don't get that we just want the same straight sized things just in a bigger size. Anyways that's old news, but that's what inspired this post.
Wandering into straight sized stores has been done for ages. I'm a dummy that never got with the program because of embarrassment. Some how H&M is great for cardigans and for basics that can be dressed up and they don't look all that basic. The halter top was a size large! and i'm nowhere near a large. I usually wear a size 2X.
If you can't find something in your size, just try on straight sized things and it might cooperate. Go for looser cottons it'll fit nicely.

Birkenstock Sandals

Birkenstock sandals were a fashion staple last summer, and it's definitely making a come back this summer.  I feel like Birkenstock sandals are great for days when you don't want to put shoes on. They're super comfortable and come in different colors and styles. I styled these fabulous sandals with a halter top and high waist shorts.
Forever21 have a great plus size alternative halter top, pair it with some jeans and and a flowy tank top and it's a totally new outfit.
If Birkenstock sandals are out of your price range, Steve Madden make a pair similar that are actually a little more comfortable. Even PayLess have made their own. Birkenstock is just the name brand. it's all about the style of the sandal it self. Birkenstock doesn't really make their sandals in fun colors. Payless and Steve Madden do. Think about that when feeling weird about buying "knock-off" Birkenstock. Who cares?
